Peter Robertson

Peter Robertson joined EC Partners Pty Ltd in 2010 having been involved with the company since inception.  Based in Brisbane Australia, Peter is an experienced business person who has been a founding director and investor in a number of new business ventures.  In 1980 Peter co-founded a software company to explore opportunities in the fledgling software industry.  Trading under the 'Saltbush Software' brand, the company provided computer software and services to the major agricultural industries.  Working in partnership with the University of New England (UNE), the company has exported it products internationally, won numerous design and industry awards and still operates as a wholly owned business unit within the Agricultural Business Research Institute at UNE.  Peter also co-founded Renard Developments Pty Ltd in 1990.  This award winning company is a niche market commercial property development business that has specialised in developing pre-commitment complexes for a range of commercial clients and government agencies.  Peter has a thorough understanding of government tender processes and procurement guidelines that deliver sophisticated projects based on complex and detailed briefs.   Peter has extensive experience in working with different delivery models and understands the implications that these models have on cost, project feasibility and timing issues.  In 2001, Peter participated in providing seed capital to found Sleepy’s Pty Ltd, a specialist bulky good retailer.  The company has grown steadily and continues to expand within Australia.  Peter acted as director for a term and remains an active and committed shareholder.   Consistent with his involvement with sports and sporting administration, Peter is a founding director of Golf Central, a sports and recreational facility located within the Brisbane Airport precinct.   Work on Golf Central commenced in 2009 and the facility opened in late 2013.  Peter has also operated as an external board member and chair of government boards.  In particular, Peter served as an independent board member and chair of the Brisbane City Works Board, as well as serving on the Business Group Board within the  Brisbane City Council.  Peter currently acts as a non executive director of Tennis Queensland as well as a director/councillor of St Margaret’s Anglican Girls’ School.  Peter has extensive experience in Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Finance & Audit, Strategy Development and Master Planning having served on various board committees covering these fields.  Peter has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Mathematics) from the Queensland University of Technology and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. 

Matthew Pegg

 Matthew Pegg is a co-founder of EC Partners Pty Ltd and is based in Sydney, Australia.  He also co-founded of Emission Capital Management Pty Ltd a specialist Funds Manager in the stationary energy sector.   Matthew has over 18 years of experience in banking and commodity trading.  He is an expert in commodities trading and price risk management and has held senior positions in global commodity and energy trading as well as corporate and institutional banking firms.  He has a proven track record of building successful commodity businesses with an international footprint.  Specifically, he has arranged a number of innovative and high profile structured finance and risk management transactions in the commodity markets. Matthew is a former Head of Noble Group Financial Products Trading based in Lausanne, Switzerland.   Before joining Noble Group, Matthew worked at National Australia Bank where he established an agricultural trading desk before taking on the role of Global Head of Commodity Trading within the Global Markets Group.  Matthew was also appointed to the NAB Group Markets Leadership Committee.   Matthew has extensive banking experience having held various positions with Rabobank International and at NM Rothchild & Sons Limited.   Matthew served as a Director of Rabo Corporate Finance Limited.  Matthew holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland. 

Ted Quayle

 Ted Quayle is a co-founder of EC Partners Pty Ltd and is based in Brisbane Australia.  He also co-founded Emission Capital Management Pty Ltd, a specialist Funds Manager in the stationary energy sector.Ted has 20 years of experience in wholesale funds management and banking. He is an expert in designing investment products, risk management and portfolio construction and is a highly regarded financial modeler. Ted was part of a group that co-founded Tactical Global Management Ltd (TGM) in 1997.  TGM was an Australian-based wholesale fund manager that expanded into the UK in 2000.  TGM provided Global Tactical Asset Allocation and Global Macro investment strategies to institutional investors in Australia, the UK, the US, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Netherlands.  From 2003 until 2008, Ted was based in London in the role of Director Portfolio Management.During his time at TGM, Ted was heavily involved in raising funds, client service and in devising and implementing investment strategies.  TGM has held upwards of $3Billon under management and Ted led the design of investment products, negotiation of Investment Management Agreements and launched a number of listed and unlisted investment vehicles.  Ted is highly experienced in investment product design, investment memorandum (offering document) creation, negotiations with lawyers, prime brokers, listing agencies and fund administrators.Ted has also held various roles at Suncorp Investment Management Limited, HSBC Futures Australia Ltd and Credit Lyonnais Rouse.Ted holds a Bachelor or Engineering (Metallurgical) degree from the University of Queensland and he is a CFA Charterholder with the CFA Institute.
